HS2 - build it in the North First - response to Policy Statement by former Goldman Sachs economist Jim O'Neill

A sensible solution - the South have enough wealth and is over developed. Linking the Midlands with HS2 to Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Sheffield, via Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and Stoke, and on via the East and West Coast Lines to the real North will ensure that Britain's wealth flows North instead of South. The South doesn't want HS2 - so let's have some investment up here for a change.

Glad to see that at least onE Political Party wants to return power to the regions too. The abolition of the RDA's was a disastrous policy.
